Overview

Tunisian Translator is a language-learning and translation app focused on Tunisian Arabic. Depending on how you use it, the app may provide AI-assisted translation, word-of-the-day content, favorites, dictionary tools, chat practice, useful emergency or embassy contacts, premium features, and optional watch-companion interactions.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and which third-party systems are involved in certain features.

Data We Collect

Information you provide

  • Text you type for translation, dictionary lookup, or chat practice.
  • Voice input captured when you choose speech-to-text features.
  • Requests you trigger for word-of-the-day, AI translation, or AI audio features.
  • Optional support communications you send to us.

Information stored locally on your device

  • Favorites you save in the app.
  • Theme mode preferences, launch counters, rating-prompt state, and daily usage counters.
  • Locally persisted premium status flags where applicable.

Purchase-related information

  • Purchase and restore status returned by Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • Subscription or entitlement state used to unlock premium features.

How We Use Data

  • To translate between Tunisian Arabic and supported languages.
  • To power chat practice, word-of-the-day features, and AI-assisted dictionary behavior.
  • To generate or play audio output and support voice-based input where offered.
  • To store favorites and app preferences on your device.
  • To apply premium access, translation limits, and purchase restoration logic.
  • To provide utility features such as useful contacts and exchange-rate tools.

Permissions and Device Features

Microphone

Used when you choose voice-input or speech-to-text features inside the translator.

Internet and network state

Required for AI requests, online translation, watch-related syncing flows, premium features, and exchange-rate lookups.

Audio playback

Used for text-to-speech and audio playback generated through app features.

System links and dial actions

Used when you choose to open external links or dial emergency and embassy contacts from inside the app.

If you deny permissions or disable network access, some app features may not work correctly.

Third-Party Services

The current Tunisian Translator build relies on or interacts with third-party services such as:

  • OpenAI APIs for translation, word-of-the-day, chat practice, and optional AI-generated speech.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app purchases and restore flows.
  • Platform speech-recognition services when microphone-based input is used.
  • An external exchange-rate endpoint for TND conversion tools.
  • External websites or phone-handling services when you open linked resources or contact numbers.

These providers may process submitted content according to their own privacy policies and terms.

AI Features, Audio, and Watch Support

  • Text submitted for translation, chat practice, or word-of-the-day generation may be transmitted to remote AI services.
  • Some text-to-speech or audio-generation features may send text to OpenAI audio endpoints to create speech output.
  • Speech-to-text relies on microphone input and may use platform-level recognition services.
  • If you use the watch-companion experience, text and related output may be relayed between your watch and phone to fulfill translation and audio requests.

Premium Features and Local Storage

  • Premium purchases are handled by the relevant app store rather than directly by Bouiz.
  • The app may locally store premium status to unlock features and restore prior entitlements.
  • Favorites, theme settings, and certain counters remain stored on your device until app data is cleared or the app is removed.
  • Daily usage counters may be used to manage free-plan limits for certain features.

Retention, Security, and Your Controls

  • Favorites and app preferences remain on your device until you clear local app data or uninstall the app.
  • Support communications may be retained for support, security, or record-keeping purposes.
  • We use reasonable steps to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
  • You can revoke microphone access, stop using the app, uninstall the app, or clear device storage through your platform settings.

Children and International Processing

Tunisian Translator is intended as a general-audience educational and language tool. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the app inappropriately, contact us so we can review the matter.

Because remote AI and other service providers may process feature requests outside your country, information may be handled in other jurisdictions depending on your platform and the provider used.
