offers dictionary content, learning modules, AI-assisted
translation, optional text-to-speech, phrase tools, quizzes, and
camera or voice input features. This Privacy Policy describes how
information is handled when you use the app.
By using the app, you acknowledge that certain features rely on
device permissions, remote AI services, app-store purchase
systems, and Firebase-hosted learning content.

Permissions and Device Features
Microphone
Used for speech input when you choose voice-based translation
or pronunciation features.
Camera
Used when you capture text for OCR or camera translation
workflows.
Photos or storage access
May be used when you choose images from your device for text
extraction or related app functionality.
Audio output
Used to play pronunciation or generated audio inside the app.
You can manage permissions through your device settings. If you
deny a permission, related features may stop working.
Third-Party Services
The current Darija Translator build uses or relies on the
following types of third-party services:
OpenAI APIs for certain translation, chat, and text-to-speech features.
Firebase services for app configuration, hosted lesson content, and stored learning assets.
Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app purchases, billing, and restore flows.
Device or platform speech-recognition services when microphone input is used.
System-level review, sharing, email, and external link actions when you trigger those features.
When you use remote AI features, the text you submit and any text
extracted from images may be transmitted to those remote services
to generate a result. Third-party providers handle their own
processing under their own terms and privacy policies.
AI, Voice, and Camera Features
Typed text may be sent to remote AI services when translation or chat features require it.
Camera-captured images are used to extract text; extracted text may then be translated or processed by remote AI features.
Voice features may rely on device speech-recognition systems and optional remote audio-generation services.
If you use the watch companion experience, content may be relayed between your watch and phone to fulfill translation features.
Retention, Security, and Your Controls
Locally cached lessons, progress, and preferences generally remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Support emails remain available to us for support and record-keeping purposes unless deletion is legally required or operationally necessary.
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure.
You can revoke permissions, uninstall the app, or clear device app storage to remove locally stored data.
Children and International Use
Darija Translator is intended as a general-audience educational
tool and is not knowingly designed to collect personal data from
children in violation of applicable law. If you believe personal
data from a child has been provided through the app, contact us so
we can review the request.
Because some app features rely on remote service providers, your
data may be processed in countries other than your own depending
on the provider and your device platform.
